About VerifyCustomer story · Healthcare
The communications department of Erasmus MC uses photos of patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and models every day. Verify links each image to the consent behind it, blocks images when consent ends and helps trace misuse online.
Erasmus MC
Erasmus MC is a university medical center in Rotterdam. Its Department of Communication, including image editing and employer branding, publishes visual material across the website, campaigns and social media.
Challenge
Solution
Consent forms are stored digitally. Facial recognition links the right consent to every image in which a person appears: patients, staff, professors, board members and hired models.
The team sees at a glance whether an image can be used, monitors expiry dates and gets a signal when renewal is due. Through the integration with the existing image database, images are blocked automatically when consent expires or is withdrawn.
Images registered in Verify carry an invisible digital watermark, so they can be found on websites and social media. If a photo of a doctor is misused to promote health products, the team can trace it quickly.
Results
“With Verify, we can now centrally manage consents and access them in real time. When someone leaves the organization or withdraws consent, we can immediately see which images are affected. Thanks to the integration with our image database, photos are automatically blocked as soon as consent expires or is withdrawn. In addition, Verify enables us to track unauthorized use of our images online. During an external audit, our way of working with Verify was assessed very positively.”
